Make a real difference to the lives of children outside the classroom

Are you frustrated with the ever expanding demands of teaching? Teach life skills to children outside of the classroom with Fostering Rotherham. Every day, teachers and childcare professionals make a huge and lasting impression on the lives of the children in their care.

As a foster carer, you can use your existing skills and knowledge to make a direct impact on the lives of children in the Rotherham area.

We want you to foster because…

  • You have looked after children before!

  • You understand children and have been working with them a long time.

  • You have already worked with a wide range of children with differing needs and understand that children have good days and bad days

You can see and support potential in children so they can thrive.

  • You have the opportunity to step in and make a real impact on a specific child’s life.

  • You share the same values as our team - we all entered our roles to improve the lives of children and teach them about the world we live in.

  • You already know about the social care system, the importance of a committed team around a child and safeguarding.

Nearly 40% of foster carers combine work and fostering, so you could boost your earnings by even working full or part-time.

Why you should foster

  1. You can make a real difference outside of the classroom.

  2. You can focus your attention and care in a way that will help a child thrive - and receive the same salary!

  3. You can work 1:1 with a child and give them the care and attention they need, without splitting your attention across a full classroom.

  4. The never ending list of paperwork and planning is gone!

  5. By fostering in your own home, you will have more time for family life - no more commuting and spending hours marking after pupils have gone home.

  6. Explore career development in a different way with our training programmes.
